What has Omar Afra done since Free Press Houston stopped publishing?
Since Free Press Houston ceased publishing in 2018, Omar Afra has continued working across independent publishing, artist management, live-event consulting and sustainable construction. He established Testset in 2020, co-managed Hotel Ugly from 2021 to 2023, and advised festivals on talent buying, marketing and public-funding strategy, including executive consulting for Big As Texas in Conroe. He also built Right Angle Home & Outdoors, a Houston company focused on sustainable outdoor construction and landscaping. In 2026, he founded Live Index to research the economics and infrastructure of live music.
